In this candid conversation captured by BTF Productions: The controversy surrounding the upcoming film Sree Ayyappan reached a boiling point as Director Vishnu Venjaramoodu addressed allegations of inciting communal tension. Standing alongside actors Sudheer Sukumaran and Aneesh Ravi, the director confirmed the film’s central conflict: a fictional terrorist attempt to destroy the Sabarimala shrine on December 6 (Babri Masjid Demolition Day).

In a fiery response to online trolls, Vishnu Venjaramoodu condemned the “religious profiling” prevalent in society. He asked a pointed question: “If I wear a sacred thread (Nool) on my wrist, does that make me a Sanghi? That is my belief.”. He argued that just as other religious attires are respected, Hindu symbols should not be politicized or branded as extremist. Actor Sudheer Sukumaran (Dracula Sudheer) supported this stance, dismissing claims of “subject poverty” and asserting that the film is a survival thriller about protecting the temple, asking, “If such a threat actually came, wouldn’t we defend it?”.
