We captured an exclusive theatre response from the veteran actor Jaffer Idukki, live from the ‘Amos Alexander’ FDFS in Kochi! As he came out of the cinema, he was asked about taking on a significant negative character in the film.

His answer was a masterclass in humility and professionalism.

When asked about the negative shade of his role, Jaffer Idukki humbly replied, “It’s my job, my lady” (“Athu ente joli alle mole”). He explained his philosophy that as an actor, he isn’t here to just play “big hero roles” and will take on any character, even if it’s “atrocious” or “disgusting,” as long as it’s part of the film’s story. He said he is simply happy to get the work and be a part of the craft.

He also gave us a special treat, singing a few lines of a Bengali song that is featured in the movie!

His final verdict on the movie? A huge smile and one word: “Gambheeram!” (Superb!)
